Starting out in a small glass office in the corner of College & County’s lettings department, Darren Hunt launched a new estate agency to handle property sales. It was December 2019, and he began with no properties to sell and no buyers to sell to. Yet through grit, determination, and a little luck, homeowners soon chose College & County Sales to market their homes. Always keen to challenge the stereotypical image of estate agents, Darren made ethics the clear mission from the start.
Early on, he introduced presenter-led video tours - an innovation that would prove invaluable. However, just a few months later, the COVID-19 pandemic forced Darren to work from home as the country went into lockdown. This timing created major challenges for launching a new property business, but Darren remained undeterred. He worked hard, adapted quickly, and juggled homeschooling with building his business.
During this challenging period, Darren’s presenter-led video tours truly came into their own, quickly becoming a hallmark of the company. Supported by these videos and countless Zoom meetings, he secured sales.
As a result, when lockdown restrictions lifted, he was ready to hit the ground running. The company grew rapidly post-pandemic and now boasts a fantastic team across two branches.
Now, the story continues with a new chapter: Darren’s own name is above the door.
